ADVERTISING POLICY
The following policy of Alamance County Transportation Authority (ACTA) regarding advertising is applicable to all forms of advertising by ACTA. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Advertising on the interior or exterior of any revenue or non-revenue vehicle
- Advertising on all transit printed media, including maps, tickets or passes
- Advertising on or in stations or shelters, or advertisements on bus benches or trash receptacles
- Advertising on any Internet site controlled or published by ACTA
- This policy is applicable to advertisements that ACTA may charge a fee for or for advertising that may be allowed without charge by ACTA
- Space is rented to advertisers procured by graphics companies on a “first come, first served” basis
- Rental fees based on market value with current market $200.00 per side per month per vehicle, payment required in advance. Rental Fees subject to negotiation by ACTA Executive Director.
All advertisements shall be of a reputable nature and shall not be defamatory. No advertisement shall promote any illegal activity, incite violence or be obscene or vulgar. Obscene or vulgar means any material, as defined in Article 26, Subchapter V11 of Chapter 14 of the North Carolina General Statutes, N.C.G.S. § 14-190.1(b), that depicts or describes in a patently offensive way sexual conduct and that lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value. No advertisement shall portray or reflect ACTA in a detrimental manner. ACTA does not accept advertisements for the sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or electronic-cigarettes aka vapor products, as those products are defined in N.C.G.S. § 14-313. No political advertising shall be permitted. No religious advertising shall be permitted. No advertisements of any product, service or exhibition shall conflict with the laws, regulations or ordinance of the United States, the State of North Carolina or respective local governments. The ACTA Executive Director, or its Board, shall approve all advertisements prior to installation.
